In 2014, Patek Philippe Nautilus family embrace a new member-5990/1A. This is the latest watch that has Cartier’s latest technology and aesthetic taste. This is the first time that they put dual time together with chronograph, and also changes a new movement. With such graceful figure, 5990/1A come to us. The new Patek Philippe Nautilus 5990/1A remains its typical case, so it still has a 40.5 mm case that is made of stainless steel. At 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock, there is huge chronograph button. Stainless bezel and that are processed with wire drawing appears to be modern, and become an obvious contrast. Careful-engraving black copper has Repoussé, and gradually become bright. Also, a minute counter is set at 6 o’clock and a date aperture is set at 1 o’clock.
For this Patek Philippe watch, Patek Philippe’s logo is carefully placed at the 60-minute counter, to balance the bold Arabic numbers on the dial visually. With the same principle, a local time and destination time counters are set separately at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock. Such a design can also find in other Patek Philippe watches, such as Aquanaut dual time.
At the center of the watch there are four center hands. Among them two hands that point at the local time have the same shapes. Sword-shaped hands become thinner from the center to the edge, appearing to be elegant. Hands that are applied to point the local time are skeleton hands, to degrade its visual privilege on the dial. In the 2012 Basel Patek Philippe also showed a Nautilus (Ref.5980/1R). Comparing to the old one, the new Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref.5980/1R has a stainless steel case that match a bracelet that is polished. Adding a dual time zone, the new Nautilus Ref.5980/1A has more sport spirit. Through two buttons at 9 o’clock, wears can adjust destination time in an easy way.Tags: chronograph, nautilus, patek, philippe
